    Job Description – Supply Chain Solutions Manager

    The Virginia Distillery Co., an American Single Malt Whisky distillery located half an hour south of Charlottesville, VA, is seeking a Supply Chain Solutions Manager. This position reports directly to the Operations Director and will strive to achieve our relentless pursuit of operations excellence.

We work hard to bring our category-defining American Single Malt Whisky to market. Our distilling operations started in November of 2015, and 2020 marks the year we launch our own flagship whisky brand, Courage & Conviction. We’re data driven. We think big. We stay positive.     Key Responsibilities

    • Management of key Supply Chain functions including: production and bottling schedule planning to support sales demand, on-time procurement of materials, and finished goods supply logistics
    • Driving Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes to align all the plans for the business (sales, marketing, development, manufacturing, sourcing, and financial) into one integrated set of plans.
    • Develop, maintain, and drive the execution of highly visible supply chain dashboards to track operations and communicate status to the entire team.
    • Identify, evaluate, plan, and drive execution of continuous improvement projects to increase the team's effectiveness in meeting business goals including safety, revenue, quality, and productivity goals
    • Manage inventory procurement for all raw materials, foster existing vendor relationships and support the development of new vendors.
    • Responsible for raw material inventory readiness, availability, and visibility.
    • Interacting with vendors and our internal brand and sales teams, encompassing critical component planning, allocation direction, supply flexibility modeling, and materials liability management.
    • Manage project timelines and resources and ensure risk mitigation actions are identified and in place to ensure successful product launches
    • Analyze demand, inventory, and program usage to develop and manage weekly and quarterly supply plans. Results should meet Virginia Distillery Co.’s growth plans, while achieving aggressive time-to-market goals and minimizing finished goods and raw material liability.
    • Administer, create, and maintain policies and procedures for effective labor, equipment, and resource management.
    • Regular and predictable attendance at the work site, this role requires regular presence at the distillery production facilities
    • This role requires lifting up to 40 lbs. occasionally

    Qualifications & Desired Experience

    • Prior experience in supply chain, project management, product planning, production control, inventory management, or production/manufacturing operations is strongly preferred.
    • Self-motivated and operates with a great sense of urgency and ability to drive progress under immense degree of ambiguity and be comfortable working in an unstructured environment.
    • Superior planning, organization, administration, and interpersonal skills
    • Working knowledge of quality systems, finance, capital planning, and forecasting, economic justification analysis, statistical process control, and manufacturing management systems
    • High levels of analytical and financial skills, ability to use data to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities and accurately assess financial impacts
    • Ability to work well in a team-based highly collaborative environment
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, precision, and timeliness
    • Ability to prioritize and perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism
    • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills including advanced Excel
    • Open-minded, positive thinker with an ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects with various stakeholders
    • Prior experience in supply chain, project management, product planning, production control, inventory management, or production/manufacturing operations is strongly preferred.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. Preferably in engineering, business, operations management, or similar field.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business with four years of relevant experience in supply chain or manufacturing.
    • Prior food beverage manufacturing leadership experience with a working knowledge of cGMP
    • Desire to build a manufacturing career at the heart of business operations
    • Experience with Lean methodologies and culture preferred

    Job Summary

    Virginia Distillery Company, an American Single Malt Whisky distillery based in Lovingston, Virginia, is seeking Whisky Attachés who can help support events & store tastings.

    Position Summary:

    Virginia Distillery Company is seeking highly interested individuals who want to learn about the growing spirits industry in Virginia and beyond, who enjoy interacting with the public in support of brand development.

    The core responsibilities will include conducting tastings at stores and consumer events in the local area. Whisky Attaches will be tasked with driving brand awareness, product education and product sales through these activities.

    A full training program and continuous education would be provided to ensure Whisky Attachés are fully engaged in the activities at the distillery and can speak accurately and passionately about the company and the brand.

    The scheduling will be flexible, but focused mainly on evening and weekend events. This would be on an as-needed basis, with no minimum guarantee of available hours per week.

    The ability to lift 40 lbs and stand continuously for hours at a time are required. Preferred background includes people with customer service, theater, adult beverage, brand and marketing experience. Must be friendly, outgoing and excited about interacting with a variety of people in support of educating consumers on Virginia Distillery Company products.
