Site & Facilities Lead

    This position will Lead the Site and Facilities Team with regards to maintenance and repairs of all facilities, as well as upkeep of the grounds. Employee should have experience and comfort operating power equipment such as a riding mower, weed eater, pressure washer, tractor and various handheld power tools. Mechanical and/or Manufacturing/Production experience is preferable, as there are various mechanical systems and operations that require oversight and maintenance. This position, at certain times, can be physically demanding and will require employees to work outdoors and in the elements, or, on their feet for extended periods of time. The ability to learn and oversee certain mechanical systems and their operations, as well as troubleshoot, diagnose, and in some cases, repair system failures. Hours are generally Mon-Fri 8am-5pm, excluding holidays.

    Key responsibilities include:

    Examples of regular job assignments may include, but not limited to:

    • General grounds keeping and maintenance
    • Facility maintenance and upkeep throughout 5 buildings across 25+ acres
    • Cleaning
    • Inspections
    • Lubrications and some custodial work/oversight
    • Project management, prioritization and delegation of tasks amongst team of 3 site & facilities staff
    • Learning system operations and performing daily performance checks
    • Assisting/Supporting various internal company programs
    • Assist with bottling and packaging
    • Light construction and construction oversight assistance
    • Sweeping and/or mopping

    The Site & Facilities Lead reports to the Distillery Director. Management of staff and vendors as required.

    Qualifications & Desired Experience

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Employee should have experience and comfort operating power equipment such as a riding mower, weed eater, pressure washer, tractor and various handheld power tools.
    • Mechanical and/or Manufacturing/Production experience is preferable
    • Familiarity with basic hand tools and power tools
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Experience as a team lead preferred

    Job Summary

    Virginia Distillery Company, an American Single Malt Whisky distillery based in Lovingston, Virginia, is seeking Whisky Attachés who can help support events & store tastings.

    Position Summary:

    Virginia Distillery Company is seeking highly interested individuals who want to learn about the growing spirits industry in Virginia and beyond, who enjoy interacting with the public in support of brand development.

    The core responsibilities will include conducting tastings at stores and consumer events in the local area. Whisky Attaches will be tasked with driving brand awareness, product education and product sales through these activities.

    A full training program and continuous education would be provided to ensure Whisky Attachés are fully engaged in the activities at the distillery and can speak accurately and passionately about the company and the brand.

    The scheduling will be flexible, but focused mainly on evening and weekend events. This would be on an as-needed basis, with no minimum guarantee of available hours per week.

    The ability to lift 40 lbs and stand continuously for hours at a time are required. Preferred background includes people with customer service, theater, adult beverage, brand and marketing experience. Must be friendly, outgoing and excited about interacting with a variety of people in support of educating consumers on Virginia Distillery Company products.
